White Wolf Role-Playing Games
In the metaplot established by White Wolf for its World of Darkness role-playing games (Vampire: the Masquerade, Werewolf: the Apocalypse, Mage: the Ascension, et al), the Giovanni were originally a group of incestuous, affluent Italian necromancers who became vampires through the diablerie of Cappadocious, the progenitor of one of the vampire clans. Rejected by both the Sabbat and the Camarilla sects of vampires, the Giovanni were left alone as an independent clan. However, with enemies in both the mortal world and the Shadowlands--the realm of the restless dead--the clan had to cultivate alliances and increase its power as a matter of survival.

Moonstone Publishing acquired the license for World of Darkness comics, publishing a three-issue Vampire: the Masquerade series, as well as spin-offs of popular non-player characters from the WoD's metaplot, as well as spin-offs examining some of the vampire clans in the game. This one-shot is one of those, examining one of the most feared and powerful clans in World of Darkness storyworld.
