    Tintin is a heroic reporter whose investigations frequently lead him into adventures and peril. His full name and his family and origin have never been revealed in comics or the series of Tintin books. He is mostly assumed to be Belgian, but even that is never explicitly stated.

    Tintin's adventures were first published in Le Petit Vingtième (a weekly supplement for kids in the Belgian newspaper Le Vingtième Siecle) on January 10th 1929. The series of comic strips was created by the Belgian artist, Hergé.

    Tintin is just a normal guy living in Belgium and working as a journalist together with his dog Snowy. He often finds himself in dangerous situations, but with a little detective work he always manages to find his way out. He always has a neutral outlook on life, he never lets his emotions get the better of him and he's a pretty everyday kind of guy.

    Tintin has been on many adventures in his career. Although he often journeys alone, or picks up friends and helpers along the way, his closest ally, Captain Haddock first joins him in The Crab with the Golden Claws, when Tintin investigates an opium smuggling operation. Captain Haddock is unwittingly being used to transport the drugs in his ship.

    TIntin's journeys have taken him around the world and he has even been to the Moon, in the books Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon (1953 and 1954 respectively).

    Skills/Abilities

    • Able Fighter: While Tintin has no formal training in combat, he is able to hold his own in unarmed combat, though not for prolonged periods.
    • Resourceful: Not much is able to stump Tintin. He's able to get himself out of many tight spots using only what he has at his disposal in his current environment.
    • Surprisingly Strong: Despite his diminutive stature, Tintin is able to push large objects with only moderate difficulty and is able to knock out opponents who are several times his size.
    • Marksman: Tintin is proficient in the use of firearms.
    • Athlete: Tintin is able to run long, swim and climb for long distances without tiring.
    • Mechanic: On his travels, Tintin is shown to be able to perform basic repairs on vehicles.
    • Diplomacy: In most situations, Tintin is able to talk people into taking a more sensible course of action or to diffuse tense situations.
    • Pilot: Tintin has basic knowledge of how to fly planes and drive tanks. But, only well enough to get them moving.

    The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn in 3D A Performance Capture film, directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson. Written by Steven Moffat and Edgar Wright.

    The film depicts Tintin's first encounter with Captain Haddock and the discovery of a clue to the treasure of his ancestor Sir Francis Haddock. They set out to find it with protection from a prison escapee who tried to get the treasure as well as Detectives Thompson and Thomson.
