    THE END OF HAWKMAN?

Archaeological linguist Carter Hall was done being Hawkman. Hawkman, however, was not done with Carter Hall. The mysterious Nth metal that powered Carter's armor fused itself to his body, unlocking powers he never knew he possessed. Far from leaving Hawkman behind, Carter Hall now carries Hawkman with him always and can call upon his powers at any time.

Carter will certainly need his new abilities if he is to survive the terrors descending upon New York City --- terrors that all have a specific interest in Hawkman's alien Nth metal. For alien invader Morphicius, the Nth metal could make him even more powerful, almost ensuring his conquest of Earth. As for the Gentleman Ghost, the metal would lead him to the mysterious Mortis Orb and everlasting life...in exchange for the deaths of millions.

A more savage Hawkman will rise, thanks to writers TONY S. DANIEL (DETECTIVE COMICS) and JAMES BONNY (Tomb Raider) and artist PHILIP TAN (GREEN LANTERN) in THE SAVAGE HAWKMAN: DARKNESS RISING (collecting issues #1-8).
