Small-time black marketer Jared Stevens is conned into stealing the ancient artifacts of Fate from the tomb of Nabu the Wise. When a chance encounter brings him to the mysterious tomb shrouded in a spell of invisibility, Jared finds himself being freely given the artifacts by former wielder himself -- Kent Nelson!
However, his luck comes at a price and as Jared Stevens becomes the latest bearer of the mantle of Fate, he refuses both Chaos and Order. Left scarred and irrevocably changed, Jared unknowingly begins his journey as an agent of true balance.
