Tanjent is a world of high standards. All citizens were expected to master the powers of the mind. Citizens who were not able to conform to this expectation were deemed unfit. These citizens were usually exiled from the planet. In a twist of poetic justice, these same exiles were the saviors of the planet. Symon Terrynce was rocketed to the planet's moon by his father because he did not meet the standard. Terrynce's will to live caught the eye of the Guardians of the Universe. He was given a power ring and became the Green Lantern of Sector 2515. During his first patrol in the sector, he came across as hostile exchange between his homeworld and some ships in orbit. Once the situation was diffused, it was revealed the ships carried other people exiled from Tanjent. These exiles had prevented an invasion on the satellite they were sent to.
