The TITANIUM MAN lives again! Can Iron Man defeat a foe whose armor is superior to his own?
Iron Man Story- "The Golden Gladiator and the Giant!"
At the end of the previous issue, Iron Man was about to face the creation of a man called Half-Face, who claims that his invention is the most deadly weapon ever. In the darkness of the vault where it's being held, Iron Man notices that whatever it is, it must be massive, because the whole vault is shaking. Iron Man is then attacked by Half-Face's creation, who is none other than the deadly Titanium Man, only much more powerful than before! Iron Man tries firing a repulsor ray, but it does no damage. To avoid Titanium Man whilst he thinks of a plan, Iron Man activates his roller skates, allowing dodge Titanium Man's blows.
Half-Face is watching this, and thinks about how he saved Titanium Man from drowning after his last fight with Iron Man, before increasing his power. He thinks that he'll soon be the most famous scientist ever, and that he's earned it. He thinks about how he hasn't seen his wife and child for years since he had to leave them to test some experiments. However, one of them damaged the lower half of his face, and so he can't face them as he is. Meanwhile, Iron Man pretends to be defeated by Titanium Man, so that his transistors don't have such a strain. Afterwards, Half-Face orders Titanium Man to go and destroy a nearby village, so that Americans will be blamed for it.
Captain America Story- "Into the Jaws of.... A.I.M.!"
Agent 13, a SHIELD Agent whom Captain America has a soft spot for, was working as a double agent in A.I.M., but in the previous issue Cap accidentally blew her cover by saving Nick Fury. Cap heads for their underwater base to try and save her, but A.I.M. manage to kidnap him as he heads for their base. Cap is strapped to a massive plate via magnetic force and is about to be killed, but Agent 13 is also to be put to death, and frees Cap as she gets close. Cap and Agent 13 then head to go get Captain America's shield, which is being tested by A.I.M. scientists to see if they can find a weakness.
Agent 13 tells Captain America that her mission is to destroy MODOK, a mysterious creation of A.I.M. Cap agrees to destroy it with her, but whilst the two are hiding and discussing this plan, an A.I.M. agent sneaks up behind them a shoots Cap with a paralysing ray. Agent 13 is distracted, and taken hostage by A.I.M. agents, who then teleport her to MODOK, knowing that she won't survive the experience. Meanwhile, Captain America still lies paralysed, and an A.I.M. agent comes over to him and prepares to shoot him whilst he's defenceless.
