They thought he was just an experiment – and a failed one at that! Grown from a combination of Kryptonian and human DNA, the Clone was no more than a set of data to the scientists of Project N.O.W.H.E.R.E. But when the scope of his stunning powers was revealed, he became a deadly weapon! Now the question is: Can a clone develop a conscience?

In a N.O.W.H.E.R.E. lab, the doctors are considering their experiment of three-and-a-half months a failure. They are unable to get any readings of brain activity. However, Doctor Caitlin thinks differently. She thinks that Superboy is alive, and they just can't read him properly. She is right, however, the other doctors start the termination protocols. Suberboy senses that something is wrong and breaks out of his test-tube chamber and kills most of the scientists, but Dr. Caitlin escaped and she grabs Superboy.

One month later, Superboy is enrolled in High School. There, he meets Rose Wilson who takes an immediate liking to him. They walk home together, and Superboy is seemingly so in love with Rose that he fails to notice a woman in a burning house screaming for help. He heads back home to the Helpworth Farm, which is all actually a VR program ran by N.O.W.H.E.R.E. The scientists can't figure out why he doesn't even flinch when he goes by the woman screaming for help. They feel they need to fix this before they can release him into the world. However, Templar has a different idea. He feels that Superboy needs to be released now, to deal with the Teen Titans.

"Being Human" or "Loving the Alien", can a boy be both? 0

When Geoff Johns did his run on Adventure Comics with Francis Manapul, we saw that his vision of Superboy was to pin his genetics against himself. His genetics don't fight physically, but symbolically Superboy struggles between his Human and Alien halves. The new 52 is interesting because this run is suppose to be accessible and is intended as a jump in point. I felt it was. There are familiar settings and characters weaved within this comic so that older fans can be given possible red herrings ...

    Superboy Ver. 2.0 0

The Good: I like the idea that Superboy's powers are much more based on his TTK. It separates him further from Supermen, giving him more of his own identity. Superboy and Supergirl never had as much distinct uniqueness from Superman compared to Batman's proteges in my opinion, and this serves to help Superboy be more of his own man. There's some fun stuff done with the plot that leaves you shocked at minor twists. This series has done one of the best jobs at rounding out its supporting cast in o...

Fairchild, Huh? Sneaky, Lobdell. Sneaky. 0

It is a complete reboot for the character of Superboy as Scott Lobdell and R.B. Silva go all the way back to the test tube with the character. The reimagining of Superboy's origin is a creative one, but it really remains to be seen if this new Superboy will have the same appeal as previous incarnations of the character.Much of this issue is spent inside Superboy's head with his internal narration, and that is the only sense we get of his personally. Or what exists of it. It is understandable tha...
