    "THE SECRET ORIGIN OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA!" When contenders for the leadership of Appellax stage their combat on Earth through "battle form" surrogates, the Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Black Canary, the Flash, and Green Lantern are the first to answer the call!

    2. "Secrets Behind the Origins: The Justice League of America" 2/3 page text piece on the histories of the Justice League of America by Mark Waid.

    Note: The story revolves around Aquaman, Black Canary, Flash, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter the remaining characters have cameo appearances. Flash makes a reference to naming the group the Avengers but was rebuked by Black Canary because they would be confused with the Avengers consisting of John Steed and Emma Peel.
