"Super" Powers is here to save the day!

Screech's clumsiness finally comes in handy when a fall from a ladder lands him on top of Mr. Belding's mugger! Hailed as a hero, Screech sees a perfect opportunity to impress Lisa with his new-found machismo superhero persona! With robot Kevin as his sidekick, they're out to put the clamps on crime at Bayside... But are they in over their heads?

    Synopsis

Mr. Belding asks Screech to help him hang a banner for the school dance. While Screech is on the ladder, a thug tries to mug Mr. Belding. Screech falls off the ladder and knocks out the thug and gets hailed as a hero by the school and his friends. Screech knows he's no hero, but he adopts the persona of "Super Powers" to try and impress Lisa. He vows to rid the school of all crime.

Ridding the school of crime is no easy feat, however, as there just isn't enough of it. Screech's friends realize that he won't stop until he does something as equally heroic as thwarting the thug. Zack tries to talk him out of the hero schtick, but Screech is intent on riding the hero thing out. Zack and Slater come up with a plan to show Screech that Super Powers isn't so super after all. The group stages a theft, in which Zack and Slater steal Kelly's purse in front of the school Kelly calls out for Screech's help, but he balks in order to take his allergy pill. Kelly then gives Screech an address downtown that she "overheard" the thieves mention.

Downtown, Zack and Slater wait for Screech to show up. They are confronted, however, by a local gang that is not too happy that the boys are in their territory. Screech shows up and confronts Zack about stealing Kelly's purse. (Zack's disguise sucks.) Screech discerns that the purse-snatching was all a ruse to protect Screech and decides to diffuse the situation with the gang. He "programs" Kevin, his robot sidekick, to self-destruct. The boys make a break for it and see a cab, which is somehow driven by Kevin...

Screech later comes clean to his friends about stopping Mr. Belding's attacker by accident. Nobody thinks of Screech any less than before.
