Ragstone Phillit is one of the major philosophers in Moonshadow's universe. He basically believes that life is meaningless. His philosophical opposite is Shree Quack-Quack H'onnka, who believes that everything in life is meaningful.

Phillit's most famous book is We Are All Ants in a Meaningless Cosmos. In it he delves into the possible meaning and motivations of the G'L-Doses, a powerful and inscrutable race. He believes that their only motivation is whim, and that they are proof of the randomness of the universe. This belief becomes the accepted view on the G'L-Doses.

His book was a hit, and he had trillions of acolytes.

Unfortunately for Phillit, the G'L-Doses abducted him and sent him to the Zoo soon after, and he was never heard from again.

Curiously, considering that denizens of the Zoo have immortal lifespans, and that Moonshadow is a huge reader, Moon never has any interaction with Phillit while he is living in the Zoo himself. He seems to have first heard of Phillit from King Macha; after that Phillit and H'onnka are Moon's major philosophical influences.
