Mother Aimee was a nun who worked in the Vatican Ouest, or Tower, during the reign of Pope Innocent XLII.  She was a fervid believer, but also devious and cruel.  She would do anything to preserve the Pope's rule and further her perverse idea of Christ.

The Church was one of the great powers of the world at this time.  Innocent was bringing in enormous amounts of money from their services and using them to build a mysterious project at the top of the Tower.

Mother Aimee seemed like a true believer, unlike the cynical Innocent.  She tortured herself with tight metal boots, a robot hair plucker, and a rotating whip to prove her love for Christ.  When a new Grendel reared his head and attacked the Church, she gladly took on the role of Grand Inquisitrix of the American Catholic Church--the Question of God Himself.  Her reputation preceded her, and even the other Church elders were afraid of her.  She began an extensive program of merciless torture. This program later began to target Orion Assante's investigation of the Church. She summoned Sherri Caniff and Assante to the Inquisition, although they both managed to avoid the summons.

She was also instrumental in coming up with new strategies to help Innocent in his persecution of Assante.  It was her idea to target his sisters, Neki and Cesti.  When they did not accede to an arrest by C.O.P. (she could not summon them to the Inquisition because they were excommunicated earlier), she started a false rumor that they were pregnant with Orion's child.  Then she realized that Neki shared her (non-excommunicated) mother's name, and perhaps they could arrest her, saying they thought she was her mother.  She then suggested that Innocent spread the word that Orion was actually Grendel. The sisters, attempting to flee C.O.P. and the Church, ended up crashing their car and dying.

During Orion's final invasion of the Tower with a small army, she climbed a ladder to Innocent's secret weapon at the top, trying to save Innocent.  Orion had a soldier shoot her.  She fell into a vat of bananas and died.
