Mindsinger

History

Gregor Buhkarov had been collected to assemble alongside fellow humans selected and empowered to become collectively known as the Young Gods. The Godesses of the Earth were recruiting fine specimen of humanity to present to the Celestials at the time of their next judgement. If the specimen were deemed worthy, humanity would be allowed to survive and further achieve their potential. If not they would be eliminated. They were in preparation for the coming of the Celestials in their Forth Host. Gregor represented humanity's potential given her hunting skills. Numbering in the dozen, the Young Gods were offered by Gaea acting on behalf of the goddesses to the Celestials, examples of the great potential in humanity. Arishem the Judge would accept the Young Gods and give a favorable verdict towards Earth and humanity and then the Celestials would depart taking the Young Gods with them to the Celestial Mothership. Now engineered into a mutate having been enhanced by the Celestials, Gregor would adopt the title of Mindsinger.

Creation

Mindsinger is a Marvel comic book character. Created by Mark Gruenwald, Ralph Macchio, Keith Pollard and Gene Day he first appears in Thor #300 released in 1980. Many of the details of the character are first introduced in Spectacular Spider-Man #8 released in 1998. The character would also receive substantial development in the Marvel Comics Presents series.

Character Evolution

Mindsinger is a member of the Young Gods, alongside many others such as Bright Sword, Caduceus, Calculus, Daydreamer, Genii, Harvest, Highnote, Mindsinger, Sea Witch, Splice, Varua. The twelve share many similarities.

All twelve were ordinary humans chosen by the Goddesses of Earths pantheons under the direction of the Elder Goddess Gaea. All twelve were chosen as for representing a certain particular ideal of humanity. Mindsinger and the other eleven were created to serve in a story that came into fruition starting with Thor #300, which dealt with various Earth pantheons confrontations with the mysterious Jack Kirby creations the Celestials.

Major Story Arcs

Return to Earth

Upon the Celestial Starship, Bright Sword, Daydreamer, Highnote, Mindsinger, Sea Witch, Splice, were to become the students of Juniper. The other six Young Gods had become a student of Katos, these were his fellow Young Gods, Caduceus, Calculus, Genii, Harvest, and Varua. Both Katos and Juniper were servants of the Celestials and would as a duty be the mentors of the Young Gods. Katos would favor teaching the philosophy and practice of defense and defensive measures, where as Juniper would teach and impart wisdom and teachings for more offensive combat skills. Daydreamer the Canadian Young God with the abilities of precognition and telepathy would learn of the High Evolutionary's plans for humanity after her powers alerted her to the High Evolutionary's attempts to observe the Young Gods.

After Water Witch had a dream in which she was assaulted by an evil spirit Mindsinger and the other Young Gods heard her distress and came to her aid. Both Varue and Daydreamer were convinced it had to do with the evil spirit they had battled in Israel. They urgently requested a conference with the Celestials but Katos and Juniper decided to take their petition to them themselves. After they led Mindsinger and the others to the Celestials they were than granted three days on Earth.

Mindsinger, Daydreamer, Harvest, Varua, Genii and Brightsword visited Jerusalem, Israel, to investigate a psychic presence Daydreamer had detected. They discovered an artificial creature powered by the emotions of the people there, but Varua, Harvest and Mindsinger were able to form a Uni-Mind and cut it off from the emotional energies, forcing it to consume itself and be destroyed. Daydreamer examined the creature's remains and determined that it had been sent by one of the gods from Earth's pantheons.

Mindsinger, Harvest, Genii and Daydreamer traveled to a shopping mall in Central bend, Wisconsin. While investigating the mall both Mindsinger and Daydreamer were attacked by civilians who were being controlled by the evil spirits.

Mindsinger and the other free Young Gods of the others than travel to Sri Lanka and discovered the stone which would allow them to get into contact Nuada. Once contacted, Nuada would command them to bring the stones to Wisconsin and Ireland in exchange for the captive Young Gods. Mindsinger and the others attempted to fight Nauda and defeat him however they were overpowered. Daydreamer would use her powers to grant Nauda his fondest dreams to come true. However she had tricked him and had cast an illusion of false stones, keeping the real ones.

The Young Gods taught by Juniper decided to take aggressive actions against the High Evolutionary. However the other faction of students taught by Katos decided to follow their peers to Earth and the two groups of Young Gods would clash in physical confrontation. When Daydreamer would attempt to subdue Calculus by projecting psychically into his brain, she would injure him more than she had meant to, seriously incapacitating him. She and the rest of Juniper's Young Gods students would stand down after that incident bringing the conflict to an end. Caduceus would use his restorative healing powers to heal Calculus.

War with the Eternals

After years of waiting on the silent and unmoving Celestials for a sign, the Young Gods go mad and descend into deviant behavior for the hopes of even the slightest acknowledgement. They then decide that the Celestials must wish for them to use their powers and act on their own. Upon deciding this, the group left the Celestials' spacecraft and returned to Earth, where they intended to use the consciousness of all humans on the planet to create a new Celestial. They decide to start with the island nation of Madripoor and extend outwards.

Upon learning of this, the Eternals, who were unaffected by the Young Gods' power to drain consciousness, encountered and attempted to stop them. Both Mindsinger and Brightsword attempt to subdue Ikaris the former leader of the Eternal's. Mindsinger morphs himself to entrap Ikaris and coats himself onto him. He does so to set him up for Brightsword's follow up but Ikaris turns the tables around and defeats them both. Eventually, the Eternals convince Varua that the Celestials may have been testing them with their silence and coming to Earth may be the wrong choice. While Varua hesitates to ponder the possibility of being wrong, she is killed and Mindsinger and the other Young Gods who had not been killed during battle with the Eternals immediately fall to the ground, seemingly dead.

Powers and Abilities

Mindsinger's powers are derived from a mutation which was induced when his body was bathed in an This caused a body-wide mutagenic process that transformed his physiology. Gregor now has a malleable physiology and has the ability to rearrange the molecules of his body at will into any form he chooses. He can simulate some of the abilities and functions of the object or living being he imitates, depending on what that object or being is. Gregor has complete control over his structure. He can stretch his limbs and body to superhuman lengths and sizes. There is no known limit to how far he can stretch his body. He can contort his body into various positions and sizes impossible for ordinary humans, such as being entirely flat so that he can slip under a door, changing his hands into giant mallets, and turning his whole form into a giant spiked ball. In addition, he can alter his bodily mass and physical constitution at will; there is virtually no limit to the sizes and shapes he can contort himself into.

Mindsinger also has the power to communicate telepathically with others across relatively short distances. He can discreetly enter someone's mind and take information out as passive thoughts.

Through the genetic engineered gifts granted he Mindsinger has a mutated human physiology. He is imbued with a high degree of strength, speed, endurance, physical resistance, agility, and reflexes possessed are considered superhuman. He can exert himself at maximum effort for far longer than most humans can endure.
