With his secret identity exposed, a madman threatening to destroy his family and enemies at every turn, Spider-Man pays a visit to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes -- the Avengers -- for some assistance. But things don’t turn out quite like he expects…
After Aunt May's kidnapping, Peter realises that one of his enemies has discovered his secret identity, so persuades Mary Jane to go into hiding in an attempt to protect her. He visits Norman Osborn on Riker's Island in an attempt to discover the identity of the kidnapper, but fails to find any solid answers. He then seeks assistance from the Avengers, but is unwilling to reveal who they are supposed to be rescuing, thus revealing his own identity, so they are also unable to help. In an last-ditch effort to find answers, Peter goes to the Owl, who reveals that it was Electro and Vulture who kidnapped Aunt May. But can he be trusted?
