Note: Continued from Earth 829's Hercules Hercules Vol 1 and Hercules Vol.2 mini-series. Years later, it was continued in the Hercules: Twilight of a God miniseries.

On the planet Wilamean, Hercules' revelry binge is cut short by the arrival of Galactus! Then, Herc's fallen son Arimathes challenges his absent father to a blood match!

The capital city, Port Anteris, on the planet Wilamean, in the Andromeda Galaxy. A drunken spy is brought before the Emperor, Arimathes. The drunken spy reveals all the intelligence he has gathered on Hercules, Prince of Power. Unsatisfied with the mere history of Hercules, Arimathes orders the spy's execution. The spy reports on a recent battle between Hercules, and his father, Zeus. Arimathes considers that last bit of intelligence to be of use. After ascertaining that Hercules did, in fact, visit Port Anteris some thirty years ago, Arimathes orders Hercules' arrest. At the moment, Hercules is in his seventy-fifth hour of revelry, at the Greasy Turbine Café.

After winning yet another arm wrestling contest, Hercules is alerted to the arrival of Galactus. The population of Wilamean begins emergency evacuation procedures. Arimathes' guards arrive to arrest Hercules. Galactus makes planet fall. Hercules is placed under arrest, Hercules' arrest is postponed to allow the Prince Of Power to deal with the threat from Galactus. Hercules confronts Galactus. When Galactus refuses to respond to Hercules, the Prince Of Power attacks. Galactus pops. Hercules storms Galactus's ship. The vessel proves to be hollow, concealing a smaller command ship. Hercules storms the command ship, revealing the culprits behind the Galactus ruse, Alpo and Clyde, a pair of intergalactic thieves.

Hercules reminisces over his first encounter with the pair, before turning them over to the authorities. Hercules allows himself to be placed back under arrest. Hercules is brought before the Emperor, Arimathes. The Emperor Mother confirms Hercules' identity. After a brief interrogation, Arimathes has Hercules struck down, then incarcerated. Arimathes reveals that Hercules is his father. While imprisoned, Hercules meets Mallax Fortnite, the former military commander of a conquered planet. Fortnite reveals Armathes' plan to invade the Omacron System. The Emperor Mother enters. The Emperor Mother reveals her identity, that of Layana Sweetwater.

Thirty years ago, Sweetwater duped Hercules into a conflict with Count Igwanus. Sweetwater's treachery was revealed, but not before Hercules had left her with child. A child that, twisted by Sweetwater's lies and malice, has grown to hate his father. Gegku rebels attempt to assassinate the Emperor. Arimathes slaughters them all. Count Igwanus is revealed to be a servant to the Emperor Mother. Hercules convinces Count Igwanus to free him, and several of his comrades. Fortnite releases Lucynda Thrust, a starship pirate. Skyppi, the Skrull, assumes the appearance of the Emperor Mother. The "Emperor Mother" leads the prisoners past the guards.

After a brief hiccup in the elevator, Hercules' band of escapees make their way to one of Arimathes' starships. The Emperor addresses his armies, before they depart for the Omacron System. Rather than escaping, Hercules intends to stop the Emperor's fleet from attacking the Omacron System. With the Emperor's fleet fast approaching, the Omacron System mounts it's only defense, the Star Cavalry. Hopelessly outnumbered, the Star Cavalry has no chance to prevail against the Emperor's fleet. Thrust threatens to murder one of the Emperor's soliders, unless he reveals the fleet's communication codes. Skyppi, the Skrull, impersonating the Emperor, orders the fleet to stand down.

Hercules openly challenges the Emperor. On a large planetoid, Hercules prepares to face his son, Arimathes, in combat. To teach Arimathes a lesson in humility, Hercules fights him blindfolded. After an epic battle, Hercules is triumphant. Arimathes' armies declare Hercules the Emperor. Hercules helps Arimathes to his feet. Hercules' words reach Arimathes' twisted heart. Hercules declares Arimathes to be a new king. Finally seeing how hatred has poisoned his mother, Arimathes has the Emperor Mother confined to the north wing of the royal palace. Hercules' heart swells with pride for his newfound son.
