    Malcolm "Matey" McDuck was a British naval officer in the Caribbean. Once Matey McDuck and a sailor named Pintail Duck buried a treasure that actually consisted of potatoes. Their ship the Falcon Rover shunk with its crew on 9 December, 1564 in conflict with the Spanish. According to the story "Back to Long Ago", Matey was eventually reincarnated as Scrooge McDuck, a distant descentant of his. Scrooge has been able to access some of Malcol's memories through hypnotism.
