Once a school teacher in Ohio, Lisa Jennings is now Superwoman and a member of the Superman Squad who got her powers thanks to a Kryptonian sunstone that landed in her school's yard after the explosion of New Krypton. Despite the fact that she opposed and fought against Superman in the beginning, she was later inspired by him and realized her true potential.

Creation

Lisa Jennings first appeared in Superman #703 and was often addressed as the "mysterious woman" who was haunting Superman. She was created by writer J. Michael Straczynski and artists Eddy Barrow & J.P. Mayer. Her origin and true identity were revealed in the final issue and chapter of the Grounded story arc.
