    He first appeared issue 2493 of The Beano, dated 28 April 1990. His name, Les Pretend, is a play on the title of a childrens TV programme at the time called Let's Pretend.

    Les Pretend loves to dress up and act out the part. Whether its an animal, a profession, a sports player or someone famous. He even pretends to be vehicle's or other mechanical things. His dad is a huge Elvis Presley fan and he named his son Les Presley.
