Firefly is a woman named Bridgit Pike, part of a "family" of arsonists. She is actually afraid of fire, and her brothers force her into helping with bombings because she's thin and small enough to crawl through air ducts. She later designs her own fire-proof suit and during one heist accidentally kills a GCPD officer. Bridgit plans to escape Gotham so she robs a club in the sex-slave trade with her close friend, Selina Kyle. The pair are successful but Bridgit is soon caught by her brothers who then threaten her. Bridgit responds by burning them both to death. Bridgit goes insane and decides to kill all criminals in the city, starting with killing the owners of the club she robbed. The police arrive on the scene with one police officer hitting her fire suit, which then starts leaking. The leak is then set alight which cause Bridgit to be set on fire.

Bridgit is then taken to Indian Hill and experimented on by Hugo Strange, which causes her to believe she is the goddess of fire. When Selina breaks into Indian Hill, Pike tries to kill her but Selina convinces Bridgit that she can be her servant. When Mr. Freeze is ordered by Hugo Strange to kill Selina, Bridgit defends her and a fight ensues. During the confusion, Selina escapes from Indian Hill. Later, Bridgit also escapes from the Asylum.

Bridgit later goes on to work for Penguin.
