The attempts on Tony Stark's life continue. Plus, witness the return of the deadly Dreadnoughts!

New York. Stark Solutions building. Newly appointed secretary, Ms. Pepper Potts is working away at her desk, when her dog, Socrates suddenly starts barking. Pepper looks up to see what the matter is and finds her ex-husband, Happy Hogan standing in front of the doorway with his belongings. Pepper asks him what the matter is and he replies that Tony has asked him to come to his office. They feel embarrassed, facing each other and Happy decides to go to his office. Pepper directs him, saying that Tony is in Switzerland.

Switzerland. Alps mountains. Tony is having a great time, skiing in the snow. His client, a former friend, Countess Stephanie De La Spirosa applauds at his skills. Tony is flattered when she tells that he should teach her skiing. She ask him to come out with her to the opera, dinner etc., but Tony declines her offer, saying that as her consultant, he has much pent up paperwork to do. Stephanie is embarrassed, saying that years ago they did not part on the best of terms. Tony asks her to forget those days and concentrate on the present and future.

That night, as Tony dons his Iron Man armor, he thinks what has happened over the past week. He had got a call from Stephanie and decided to come over to her place in Switzerland. She took him to the Dufours Precision Manufacturing Corporation, the business she inherited from her late husband. Once inside the plant, she told him that she had a feeling something was wrong. She gave him a lot of financial books of the company, asking him to go through and find discrepancies.

Tony thinks of the financial discrepancies. He had browsed through the books and found a lot of money coming and going without Stephanie’s notice. As he flies toward the Dufours plant, he scans the surrounding area. X-Ray reveals a large chamber built into the mountain behind the plant and joined with it. He scans for an opening and finds one soon enough. He drops inside and is looking around when suddenly, he is attacked by guards. He fights his way out and flies away. Some guards give chase on their aerial bikes. Tony creates an artificial avalanche and stops them. Then he pulls out a couple of signal activated bombs and plants them around the hidden part of the plant.

The next day, as Tony comes down from his room, he finds Stephanie ready with breakfast. Two guards stand behind her. She asks him to accompany her on sight-seeing. Tony declines her offer and directly asks her what’s going on. She is momentarily taken aback. Tony says that she wants to keep him off his work. She wants Iron Man but is afraid to ask him. Suddenly, the guards pull out guns. Tony activates the signal from his watch, and the bombs detonate around the plant. The guards’ attentions are momentarily diverted, and Tony strikes them down with his briefcase. He disarms them and asks Stephanie to lock herself and her butler in a safe room. Then he disappears out of sight.

Somewhere else, an informant alerts a mysterious man about the things going on in Switzerland. She tells about Tony Stark and Iron Man, saying that their involvement in the Dufours plant might compromise their secrets. The man orders that all involved must die.

Iron Man soars over the mountains, when he suddenly spots some siege engineers. They blast him with their aerial bikes’ weapons. Tony is driven into the ice, but gets back up and blasts the bikes to bits. He catches one fellow and asks him his employer’s name. But suddenly, a great ship appears from behind and warns Iron Man to let go of his captive. Tony proceeds to attack but he hears a sound of particle beams coming from Stephanie’s chalet. A split second later, it bursts into flames. Three Dreadnought robots come out of the smoke. They say that Tony Stark and Stephanie Spirosa are already dead, and Iron Man and his pursuers will be dead too.
