The Hunting Party is a team of supervillains assembled by the Secret Society to strike at high-value targets across the world, making the Crime Syndicate's campaign for global domination easier. The team is led by Deathstroke, with the other members being Giganta, Aviva Metula (the second Shadow Thief), Blockbuster and Copperhead.

One of their earliest missions saw them laying siege to the White House in an attempt to capture the President of the United States, but Steve Trevor and A.R.G.U.S were able to rescue the President in time. Later, when Stargirl and Martian Manhunter emerged from the Syndicate's prison, the Hunting Party attacked them, but the duo managed to escape.

Later, when Grid tracked down the location of Batman, Catwoman and a team of villains led by Lex Luthor who opposed the Syndicate's rule, Power Ring enlisted the Hunting Party to help him eliminate all of them at once. To fight back, Batman used a Sinestro Corps ring against Power Ring, which attracted the attention of none other than Sinestro himself, who then killed Power Ring. During the battle, Lex convinces Deathstroke that the Syndicate's rule will be bad for his business, noting that "there will be no more need for mercenaries on a planet full of them," knowing that nothing matters more to Slade than the prospect of the hunt. Deathstroke thinks about it and agrees to join Luthor's side for a fat paycheck, signaling his defection from the Syndicate by killing Copperhead.
