    A Very Special Spirit - a sceptical researcher on the topic of the supernatural investigates a museum purportedly haunted by a Civil War soldier. The unquiet ghost makes his thoughts on scepticism abundantly clear.

    The Incarnadine Bridge - a poacher seeks revenge on the man who catches him in the act. He orchestrates an elaborate murder and gets away with it... at first

    Deep Six Phantom - a submarine captain and smuggler quickly murders the crew member who accuses him of malfeasance. The ghostly navigator seeks revenge.

    Dr 13 the Ghost-Breaker and the Spectre - Doctor Thirteen is in the process of debunking a fraud when the séance is captured by armed gunmen. The Spectre appears and destroys the armed men, to Doctor Thirteen's disgust. The Doctor vows to bring the spirit to justice.
