The monster brings Sue Storm to an underwater cavern, she tries to prevent herself from drowning. Meanwhile, Reed is recovering in the hospital, and in New York City at the Baxter building Johnny, and Ben recall their previous encounter with the Monster from the Lost Lagoon.
The Monster saves Sue from drowning in the cavern and brings her aboard the ship, Reed revives and manages to escape from the hospital. Running into Johnny and Ben at the most probable location of the Monsters underwater hideout, however, the three members of the Fantastic Four clash when Ben and Johnny conclude that Reed is delirious and a danger to their rescue mission.
However it all turns out for nothing, as the alien ship rises out of the water and the Monster exits with Sue and it's mate. Reed explains that the creature only came to Earth because his mate was ill and was stealing medical supplies to help heal her and the reason it kidnapped Sue was that it did not know how to administer the medicine. Once everything has been explained the monster leaves with it's mate and Sue is returned to the other members of The Fantastic Four.
This issue, and the previous issue #124, were apparently inspired by the 1954 Sci-Fi cult classic film entitled "The Creature from the Black Lagoon". The film has the monster abduct actress Julie Adams, while in Fantastic Four #124-#125 it is Sue Storm who gets taken by the creature.
