Whilst they are on the tracks of the mysterious Master who set up a confrontation with them, at a distance, in Northern Ireland, our heroes muse over fragmentary reminiscences of Harlan’s youth, investigate into the mystery of the Vampire of Highgate, the celebrated London cemetery, make the acquaintance of an odd “decommissioned” vampire hunter, Dean Barrymore, and, through the underground passages of London, eventually get to a sort of make-believe Victorian district where, to their amazement, they find the mansion of Carfax Abbey, as imagined by Bram Stoker for his novel “Dracula”. But does this mean that the mysterious Master of London might be none other than the famed Conte?
