AT THE BEGINNING
Charlene "Charlie" Andrews is a waitress at the Burnt Toast Diner in Midland, Texas, where Hiro Nakamura and Ando Masahashi stop to eat on their road trip to New York. After she reveals to Hiro that she had recently developed ability to quickly memorize and recall any information , memories and photographs with excellent accuracy in a nearly unlimited volume.
Sylar murders her in the diner's storeroom, removing her brain like a can using Chandra's list to find other evolved humans. After finding this out Hiro despirately tries to prevent her murder by going back in time one day to warn her, but he accidentally goes back six months to her Birthday. He convinces Charlie that both he and she have special powers by demonstrating his ability to stop time to make one thousand origami cranes for her.
After applying for a a job at the diner and dating her, Hiro buys two tickets to take her to Tokyo. Charlie tries to hold her feelings and tells Hiro that while she doesn't usually let people get close to her due to a blood clot in her brain that is slowly killing her, she tells him that he makes her feel happy and that she has feelings for him. However when Hiro and Charlie are about to kiss, he is inadvertently teleported back to present and unable to return, he claims that he failed to save her while Ando tries to cheer him up.
3 YEARS LATER....
The prophecy of 1000 paper cranes is fulfilled.
3 years later, Hiro returns to try to save her, crushing all the butterflies of the "butterfly effect", making a deal with Sylar, he'll tell him about his future, in exchange to save Charlie, he accept, combining its original power (Knowing the working of things ) with his telekinesis, Charlie is cured of her tumor. Charlie tells Hiro that he shouldn't have saved her, she had accepted his fate, she ask him that why he did so knowing he will kill many others, asks why she is special, Hiro replies that he loves her, but she says that is be selfish.
Later Charlie apologizes to Hiro, for saving her life and for risking his own life. The two are reconciled in a sweet kiss. When Charlie comes out of "The Burnt Toast Diner," by order of Samuel, Arnold kidnaps her, sending her at some point in the time, for that Hiro accept help him to solve your own butterflies.
