Broly

Origin

Broly is the son of a low-class Saiyan named Paragus. At birth, Broly was placed in a crib next to Son Goku, who was born the same day. For some strange reason the cries of Kakarot Broly caused in a number of disorders, from apparent rejection or discomfort, which inadvertently increased his power level, reaching 10,000. King Vegeta, fearing that his strength grew more as he grows up and rebels against him, ordered to execute Broly and his father, Paragus. Believing them dead, threw their bodies in a junkyard in planet Vegeta.

The destruction of Planet Vegeta at the hands of Frieza caused the destruction of almost the entire, Saiyan race and dispersion throughout the universe of the remaining survivors survivors, precisely, Broly was one of them, and still just a baby was able to save his father and take him to another planet acting unconsciously. His father, Paragus, was caring and raising him, trying to contain the immense power dormant within him, which even allowed him to become Super Saiyan since childhood. But it was useless once he grew, Broly was uncontrollable, his strength was far superior to that of his father and he was devoted to destroy every planet he found on his way.

In New Vegeta

After the destruction of Frieza and Cooler, Paragus devised a plan that would lead to the planet Earth saiyans New Vegeta: Vegeta call (which eventually accompany all other Z warriors) to hold the title of king of the Saiyans and recover the splendor of the race on the grounds that there was a mighty warrior of the space that was previously removed. After achieving this, keep looking for that warrior entertained until the comet will collide with the planet Moori killing them on the spot. But things were not going to come out as he intended, once there, in the presence of Goku, Broly explodes unleashing none-stop his never-ending power (he grows over 5 feet and gains vast muscle mass, his pupils disappear and he gains the famous super Saiyan characteristics, although his hair is green-ish) and making a futile effort to stop his father, anulating for first time the power inhibitor headband and losing all self-awareness.

With his power in legendary Super Saiyan state, Broly killed his father throwing him to the comet Moori, as he tried to leave it in a space capsule, and was to easly defeat,and almost kill, Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo and Gohan without even a wound. His power was so superior that it seemed that all was lost. Fortunately for the Saiyans, Goku managed to gather all the power of his comrades dying, the planet itself and his own in one punch and accurate apparently killed Broly.

Second Coming

Despise of what happened in New Vegeta, Broly survived the hit.Badly wounded,he found a damaged Saiyan space capsule,which he used to escape the collision of the comet. Traveling in space aimlessly, the capsule landed in a hazardous way in earth, forming a lake which later would freeze along with the mighty warrior. Seven years passed in which nothing disturbed his slumber, until finally awakened by the screams and cries of Son Goten, who he mistook with Goku.

This caused the immediate wake of the immense power of Broly. While as a super Saiyan, he was playing with Trunks and Son Goten, whose attacks were useless against his power. Only the transformation of Gohan in Super Saiyan (as Broly, after surviving the battle against Goku, suffered a Zenkai power incredibly increasing his power), could contain minimally Broly in Legendary Super Saiyan status, which would last few minutes. Gohan with his brutal attack had released a stream of lava,in which Broly got caught. At this time, Gohan becomes unconscious but before falling into the lava, Krillin, dressed in the costume of Picollo, saves his life. Seemingly defeated, Broly reappears to the bewilderment of Krillin and Gohan. Broly, ready to end the fighting, launched his Giant Meteor, which if had impacted on Earth would had destroyed it. However, both Gohan and Goten were ready to stop the attack throwing a Kame Hame Ha to repel the attack, which was not entirely effective.

The Omega Blaster Broly threw was gaining ground and the Earth was in danger. It was then, with the help of Shenron, Goku appeared ,a silhouette transformed into Super Saiyan to help their children. But even a Kame Hame Ha with three persons wasnt enough to overcome the power of Broly. Again, fortune sided with the saiyans, who received unexpected help from Trunks, who was dying. In a last effort, before passing the young descendant of Vegeta, threw a small ball of energy that exploded after colliding with one of the balls that Broly launched to further empower his blast, preventing it from receiving more energy from the legendary super saiyan. It was at that moment when Gohan, Goten and Goku (Goku is not clear whether it was an apparition or an illusion because they could never make a wish to Shenron) managed to defeat Broly, which created a barrier that allowed him to escape the attack But the momentum of the attack led him to the Sun On this occasion, Broly definitely die, but his blood cells that were in the ship they had come to the land would be used by a magician nearby in village to create a new and terrible being: Bio-Broly.

Powers and Abilities

As a member of the Saiyan race, Broly possesses all the powers inherent to his race. He is super-humanly strong and durable, and possesses enhanced speed and reflexes. He can undergo powerful Saiyan transformations, more powerful forms of his body, and is known to be the Legendary Super Saiyan,gaining vast muscle mass and strength, His power is continually growing, and has no set power level the only time he got his ki measured,it reached above 1,400,000,000 in Movie 8, and that's not including Movie 10 regardless it is one of the highest power levels,and that was just in his second form,meaning his powers when transforming to Legendary Super Saiyan 3, and 4 is far beyond that. He can generate energy blasts from ki, but in a different way than must of the other Saiyans,his blasts are in form of green barrier blasts that implode. He is capable of unaided flight and can survive in space by making a force field,the force field proved to be strong enough to take a energy blast with the power of 3 persons. Despite his size, Broly has proven numerous times to outspeed Goku and the others. Broly wiped out a galaxy while being controlled by his father Paragus in his Restrained Super Saiyan form (RSSJ). It's speculated that Broly destroyed the galaxy.

Broly is a very powerful Saiyan. In movie 8, he dominated 4 Super Saiyans and a Super Namek with little difficulty and at one point, even took a Super Kamehameha from Goku and wasn't fazed by the attack. In movie 10, he dominated Goten, Trunks, Videl and Gohan with little difficulty and if it was not for Trunks ki blast, Broly would have won the ki struggle and killed his enemies.

The character Kale was inspired by Broly and both of them are very similar. They both are Saiyans, they both have that insane transformation (Broly being Legendary Super Saiyan and Kale being Super Saiyan Berserk), they both have met Goku and battled him, and they both cause destruction.

Many Broly Fans often overrate Broly by saying he is the strongest fighter in Dragon Ball and that he can beat anyone which includes SSJ3 Goku, Vegito and even Beerus. This caused some Dragon Ball Fans to hate Broly for that.
