Black Canary takes flight in a 4-issue miniseries written by Tony Bedard (52, SUPERGIRL AND THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES) with art by Paulo Sequiera (BIRDS OF PREY, Gypsy) and Amilton Santos! The League of Assassins tracks Black Canary to Star City in an effort to liberate the child, Sin, they believe to be the DCU's next greatest assassin. Luckily, Black Canary has other plans for Sin's abilities and future.

While at a fast food joint with Sin, Black Canary recounts her first meeting with the Green Arrow. She had just joined the newly formed Justice League and she and Green Arrow had been tasked with protecting the Japanese Prime Minister. He was being attacked by assassins dressed like Elvis and the whole time they were fighting, Green Arrow was trying (and mostly failing) to flirt with her. Black Canary had cleaned up most of the assassins but Green Arrow shot down an arrow flying at the Prime Minister's head and got all the credit. The archer, Merlyn, got away, but the Prime Minister was safe. After the fight, Batman revealed that he had been watching the whole time. That was ten years ago.

After Dinah tells her story, Sin asks her if she will marry him. Dinah says that it's complicated. Now that Sin is in her life, she has to watch out for her too, and she'll never have a normal life. When they're done talking and eating, Dinah goes to the bathroom and Sin goes to fool around in the play place. The young girl starts playing with other kids but is accosted by some boys. They try to get her to fight, and when she does, she takes down the whole play area. Dinah runs over and they both quickly run from the building, but as they're leaving, a man in a car is watching them.

At the hotel they're staying at, Sin goes to get some ice and the man starts talking to her while she's alone. Before he can say very much, Black Canary arrives and kicks him across the parking lot. She then goes over to the man and discovers that she knows who it is.

Inside the hotel room, Dinah explains to Sin that the man is her ex-husband, Craig Windrow. She asks him why he's there and Craig tells her that he's in money trouble and he needs her to beat up the guys that are after him. Later that night in his own room, Craig is getting attacked just like he knew he would. Black Canary comes by in time to stop the attackers and Craig says that he knew she would. He then tells her that he can get Sin enrolled in a school in Star City and that he'll do it as a way of thanking her.

The next day, Craig is in the office of a man who collects Green Arrow memorabilia. Their conversation reveals that him getting attacked was just a way to get Black Canary in the proper position for something else. What the something else is, is not mentioned, but the man is revealed to be none other than Green Arrows enemy, Merlyn.
