The Big Coffin Hunters are a trio of hired guns, working for John Farson and the Outer Dark, in the town of Hambry. All three have small blue coffins tattooed into the webbing of their thumb and forefinger on their right hands. John Farson's Chief Lieutenant, George Latigo, sent the Big Coffin Hunters the the town of Hambry to rally support and supplies for Farson. Included in this were the tasks of pumping the old abandoned oil fields and preparing a load of oil to be picked up by the Horseman's Association, and carrying Maerlyn pink grapefruit to Rhea of the Coos. When the three young Gunslingers show up, they quickly discover the Big Coffin Hunters’ plans and make there own plans to stop them. Lured into the young Gunslingers’ trap, two of the three Big Coffin Hunters (Eldred Jonas and Roy Depape) were killed in Eyebolt Canyon; only Roy Depape survives, but he is later killed in the town of Oakley after teaming with Coral and gathering a group of bank robbers together.
