    There will be spoilers in this one for not only this issue but for Forever Evil as well. I'm reading all the Villain month books for the new reader perspective. I've got a good grip on Manta and I know his current status but that's about it. The Good: Manta's motivations are spelled out pretty well and made very clear. He's defined by vengeance and this issue really stressed that. His reaction to Aquaman's death was pretty well done, even if he didn't do that deed himself and I liked the way th...

    I was extremely unimpressed with this issue, which is a real shame because it started out with so much promise. The book starts off with Belle Reve Supermax Penitentiary being invaded by the Crime Syndicate. Just as Black Manta is being offered a new “purpose” from Amanda Waller, all of the prisoners are set free and told “the world is yours.”There’s a beautiful moment here where Black Manta goes to get his gear from the Personal Effects storage room and Ocean Master has arrived at the same tim...
