Remember Scabbard from THRILLER? What?! (That’s okay. Nobody else does either.) The wacky Ambush Bug introduces new zaniness in “Whoops,” the last issue of this truly comic comic book.

In this issue we get a couple of stories, one that starts off with a decapitation. Where the Bug has to take down a hulk of a villain. Also a story involving the theft of socks around the city. There are also assorted one page gags, and finally, as promised for three issues, we get the Ambush Bug vs. Darkseid.

Like a comedian that relies on a gag, by this point in the series it has been used just about as much as it can, and instead of being funny it is now wearing a little thin.  There are still some light and funny moments here, but all too often the jokes fall flat (that is to say there has to be some humour behind the gag.)  Again there is not really a story here and the issue suffers as a result.  By comparison the first two issues had a story and that at least provided a frame on which to lay on...
