    The origins of Fleur de Lis have yet to be revealed and how she acquired her training has never shown. She operated both as a French government secret agent and as a International super-heroine.


    Fleur de Lis is a character published by DC Comics. She debuted in Infinity, Inc. #34 on January 1987, and was created by Len Wein, Randy Lofficier and Ross Andru.

    Character Evolution

    Fleur de Lis would be the developed character to represent France as a international heroine who operated for the Dome as part of the Global Guardians. She originally debuted wearing a white full body suit with cowl with the emblem of the Fleur de Lis on her chest. She was subsequently characterized a bit stereotypically as all of the other Global Guardians were at the time.

    Later she would appear as a secret agent operate for the French government. Appearing this time in a burgundy body suit, no mask, and the same symbol of the Fleur de Lis cut out on her chest. Here her espionage expertise would bring out a tangled past as a secret agent.

    Major Story Arcs

    Assigned as a representative of the French government to join the international super team called the Global Guardians. Fleur de Lis was never listed among the core members of the Global Guardians, and thus likely joined the team at a later time. Her special training made her a perfect candidate for espionage operations becoming the expert within the Dome, the base of operations of the Global Guardians.

    On a mission from the Dome she than had a skirmish with Dr. Klaus Cornelius the billionaire and villainous head of corporation Cornelius/Krieg when she had a run in with Ted Kord as the Blue Beetle. The enigmatic coordinator of the Dome, Belphégor, attempted to expose Cornelius with her agents Fleur-de-Lys and the Legionary. Unfortunately their plans came undone and the Dome was shut down through political pressure. Fleur-de-Lys decided to than transferred to the French intelligence agency called Department Gamma.

    French Secret Agent

    For some time Fleur-de-Lis worked as an operative of France's covert ops group Department Gamma, and a as a former member of the Global Guardians she continued to have connections with them. At some point, she had a romantic relationship with the hired assassin known as Deathstroke, .

    She also had a relationship with international drug dealer Jacques Morel, possibly as an undercover mission assignment. Avril did not get Morel, and Morel left her nearly dead and made her lose the boy she was a few weeks pregnant with. Fleur-de-Lis saw both men again and Chavard had her captured. He would than join an alliance with Deathstroke in another unsuccessful attempt to get Morel.

    Enter the Ultramarine Corps

    Fleur de Lis had returned to her white super-heroine costume an she joined the International Ultramarine Corps. Although a member she was not part of the dedicated core of the team. She operated with less committed contributors such as Vixen and Global Guardians alumni such as the Olympian and Little Mermaid and seemed had an especially close relationship to the Tasmanian Devil. During this time she and many member of the Ultramarine Corps are brainwashed by the murderous evil mentalist Gorilla Grodd. She would in turn be compelled to combat the Justice League and went one on one with Wonder Woman. Brandishing her swordsmanship her blades were quickly shattered by the Amazon and Fleur de Lis was than knocked out. freed from his mind control Fleur-de-Lis and not been seen for some time. At this writing it is unknown if Fleur de Lis

    Powers And Abilities

    Fleur-de-Lis abilities are formidable, has mastered she is a very accomplished athlete, and her skill in unarmed combat in various sets such as martial art's, savate, and judo. She is also a well trained in various weapons. In the field she prefers to use subterfuge, stealth and subtlety rather than brute force. She has a knowledge in many different languages and is fluent in French and English. She has shown expertise in computer programming who is well trained in hacking. She is an expert with all sort of surveillance equipment setting transmitters where needed. She is also an accomplished espionage strategist able to collect and deliver top secret information in the past.

    Some time later she added a pair of rather dangerous-looking stylized Fleur-de-Lys Short Swords to her arsenal. Along with the short swords she utilized stylized Fleur-de-Lys throwing stars for longer distance combat.

    During her time a government agent she utilized lethal weapons pertaining to various firearms. She carries state-of-the-art versions of gear used in modern spying. Her listed equipment include hand held stunners, and hand held cable guns. Fleur de Lis can quickly traverse over rooftops and from building to building with the grappling hook and its retractable line.
