He's Alive? 3
Abin Sur's still alive so you know this is going to result in some gigantic differences in what we already know. The GoodIt's so weird seeing flashbacks to a young Abin Sur. At the same time, it is so awesome to see him going toe-to-toe with a Manhunter. This is a book that will completely take the idea of Flashpoint to a different level. We know things in the universe are different but imagine the possibilities with Abin having survived. What does that mean for Hal Jordan and all the events he w...

In Brightest Day, in Flashpoint Night 0
The Good: For starters, that's a really cool cover. Iconic in all the right ways. A really interesting way to start the issue. We get to see Abin Sur in his youth. It's not often a character who's legacy is to be dead gets their backround explored so thoroughly. It'd be like seeing Uncle Ben as a kid. No idea if it's happened before or not, but w/e. More Plot Setup Than Character 1
Abin Sur lives on in Flashpoint, but Adam Schlagman and Felipe Massafera get a little too distracted with the greater mythos of the Green Lantern Corps to really bring the character to life. Like Thomas Wayne, Abin Sur has been given a rare opportunity for the spotlight in Flashpoint. It is an opportunity to show off a character many readers know but few are really familiar with. Abin was Hal Jordan's predecessor, but what was he actually like as a Green Lantern? Finding out is a great hook for...

All Life Matters 0
The Rundown Abin Sur is still alive and is the GL that polices sector 2814. The Guardians have given Abin the mission to retrieve the white entity, which is buried beneath the planet earth. Given the fact that earth is on the brink of destruction, this mission is top priority to the guardians, to save the white entity. What is the white enity? Why are the Guardians still Napoleon-like D**%@? Why is Sinestro now going by Thaal? The Like I do not know too much about Abin Sur other that what is t...

The Cosmic Flashpoint 0
It has been pretty well publicized that the Green Lantern line of books has been DC's most successful books commercially. So it shouldn't be too surprising that the Flashpoint universe's Green Lantern book plays upon the same ideas that have made those book so popular: multiple colored rings, giant galactic battles and complicated political intrigue. The main difference, of course, is who has the ring for sector 2814. Abin Sur has been something of a myth, even within the already bombastic Green ...
