Along with the others, he then heads to the town of Brimstone, where the General says he can feel the power of his old weapon, The Sixth. When they arrive they find the General's wife and her men fighting the likes of Drake Sinclair, Billjohn O'Henry and Becky Montcrief, they join the fray but are unable to prevent the escape of Sinclair and his friends.

On a mission to obtain the General's lost weapon, Ben and the other Horsemen travel through the West, finally reaching the Maw, where the vault is located and where Sinclair and his pals have been holed up, trying to evade capture. Filthy Ben engages in combat during the Battle of the Maw but is killed when Drake Sinclair turns his weapon on him, thus causing him to fire a bullet directly into his own skull.

    Sons of the Gun

In a prequel story to the Sixth Gun; Filthy Ben tried to leave his past behind him. He wound up becoming a drunk, drinking severe amounts of alcohol to dull the pain that his weapon caused him and how it deformed his body, turning him into a freak. When Bloodthirsty Bill finds Ben he hands him his old weapon, coming across it in his travels after Ben tried to sell it. He tells Ben to meet him in five days should he wish to rejoin the Horsemen.

Ben attempts to resist this temptation, instead meeting up with the girl whom he wrote to during the war. They meet; however, she removes his face mask and believes him to be some sort of monster, this outcry causes her family to attempt to kill Ben, but they fail and Ben escapes. Ben then rejoins with Bill and the other Horsemen, eventually fighting a band of demons and joining forces with Missy Hume, who tells them of her plans to resurrect her husband.
