After a well executed, but slow burning first issue, the second issue of FF is a huge step up in both excitement and fun. I thoroughly admit to the only idea why I was interested in this series in the first place was She-Hulk. However, there's so much fun to be had with this title that I'm definitely going to stick around in the long run. The wheels get moving in this issue, and can I say, this issue takes us to a really fun place.

It's quite obvious that Matt Fraction is having fun writing both this as well as the Fantastic Four, has he injects fun, lively dialogue into both series. However, FF seems like the series where he really lets loose with his script. We get dialogue that is both quite fun (I got a few laughs out of this issue), but also builds solid character work as well, especially for Ant-Man. More importantly, more than four minutes have passed in this issue, and it's quite a lot of fun exploring how the replacement Fantastic Four deals with the issues that pop up as the traditional Fantastic Four are still on their trip.

Mike and Laura Allred's art is so clean, so fresh looking that it's quite a joy to look at. I really like the art in here, as it provides to perfect compliment to Fraction's script; it's both fun to look at, yet technically competent and enjoyable. The Allred's let their art do a great bit of storytelling, and seems to provide us with a solid amount of detail, as well as open space, leaving room for us to really enjoy the art on the page.

Kudos to the creative team behind this title. This series is going on quite strong, and definitely is going to be a great read going forward. A really cool fact about this title: I'd have to say that it's probably one of the few mainstream comics currently published that is enjoyable by all ages. If you're a kid, or just a kid at heart, you'll enjoy this series. Even for those of us with more mature tastes, there's still a lot of fun to be had with this comic. I highly recommend this title to anyone who's interested in it, and happily give it the highest rating possible here on ComicVine.

I love how FF has it's own unique tone compared to the companion series, Fantastic Four. Fantastic Four has a nice focus on the core family, with a slightly more serious tilt, and FF has a looser connected group, still a lot of character development in sight, but a lot more quirks and comedy. I think that's why I enjoy FF more than Fantastic Four, I know Fraction is amazing at balancing quirky art, comedy, and seriousness like on his AMAZING Hawkeye series. I really love the characters.... or at...
