There is not a great deal known about Fentara, the former Green Lantern of Graxos IV and protector of Space Sector 2815. It is believed that Fentara was one of the Green Lanterns murdered by LEGION, as the monster made its way towards Oa to exact revenge against the Guardians of the Universe. In one of Hal Jordan's earliest missions, Jordan encountered LEGION and accessed the files from the power rings of those Lanterns whom the villain had already destroyed. Among those rings was the ring of the Green Lantern of Space Sector 2815. Following his death, Fentara's ring passed to Ebikar Hrui, and later, to Blish of Graxos V. When Blish fell in battle, Arisia was selected by the Guardians to wield the ring her father had once worn.

Fentara is memorialized in the Crypts of Oa, alongside other fallen members of the Green Lantern Corps.

When Fentara returns home to Graxos IV he gets a warm welcome from his daughter Arisia. He then uses his ring to help Arisia train to be a great Green Lantern. He even gives her a first edition book, "Tales of the Green Lantern Corps" by Tomar Re. Fentara then takes Arisia to Oa and introduces her to other Lanterns, such as Greet.

A year later Fentara accidentally wakes Arisia, while charging his ring for the battle with LEGION. He is able to say good bye and i love you to his daughter before he flies off to meet his death.
