    Fear ill-writing?

First of all, I love Deadpool. I've been in love with the character ever since I read the original Deadpool run by Joe Kelly. I also loved Cable & Deadpool. So yeah, call me a fanboy, I guess.

    The story
Fear Itself has the world panicking and hammers are falling down from the sky and .. well actually you really don't need to know all this stuff. Basically: Deadpool is installing high-end security systems to ward off super villains when Juggernaut ( as one of the Worthy ) crashes through the house. Deadpool learns that these 'Worthy' are attacking the world and decides to create his own 'Worthy' to combat by tricking one of the lamest villains ever.

    The good
Uhm. Bong Dazo's the one who deliveres the artwork for this issue. Which really is about the only good thing there is to say.

    The bad
Hastings is basing his Deadpool on Daniel Way's purely comical Deadpool without any depth to the character.* So that Hastings is copying this Deadpool for his story is bad enough already, but I could live with this being a purely comical tie-in, if it weren't for the simple fact that Hastings totally fails at writing a Daniel Way-like Deadpool story. This stuff starts off with Deadpool, for some odd unexplained reason, installing high-end security in someone's home. Why the f#!k would he be working a job like this? Then there are the 'plumbers' that are working for Deadpool, which also is left unexplained why. Then these dudes nearly get blown up. In the end they seem to posses a mystical hammer. Or at least I think it's mystical? Then the user is supposed to believe that this entire world is doused in Fear, but Deadpool hasn't heard a thing about this? Of course there's also the utterly lame villain to top this shindig off.

    Conclusion
This is only the first issue, and near the end of this issue some things were kind off clearing up. Perhaps things will get better in the following issues. I hope. But really; I'd suggest to stay away from this. The only thing keeping from scoring this issue less than 2/5 is Dazo's artwork and my eternal hope that things will get better.

*Several off you might already know that I'm disliking Daniel Way for turning Deadpool into little more than a total idiot, a clown that goes from one gimmick on to the next. So naturally someone that copies this and sucks at copying it isn't my favorite writer.

      The Unworthy 0

In a chaotic world there are many who are considered worthy.....but not in this case.  Ok this is a Fear Itself tie in...well not really. Yeah it takes place during the Fear Itself storyline, yes a power Juggernaut makes a cameo but thats it. Deadpool doesnt get involved with whats going on. Instead he simply finds a large hammer and makes it look like one of the magical ones and tricks the biggest loser (no..Im not talking about the show) of a villian and tricks him to believe they are worthy. ...

Growing pains lead to a lot of confusion. 0

Deadpool "parody" crossover tie-ins have become the norm with Marvel events, but I've never been one to purchase them. I decided to give Fear Itself: Deadpool a shot, but wasn't exactly impressed. The GoodWell, the Juggernaut, as one of the serpent's monsters, is in this issue. The BadMaybe it's because I've rarely found Deadpool funny, but this issue just seemed to fall flat with me. There were a couple nice "caption" gags that we've come to expect, but for some reason nothing really got done in ...
