    Car Engine on a Winter's Day: A Metaphor 10

Fear Itself rolls on with issue number two: with five issues to go (and tie-ins), has Fraction earned himself some wiggle room? The Good Fat Cobra is being previewed to be in crossovers. That's my favourite thing about the issue. Not that I hated the rest of it; I just really liked Immortal Iron Fist. I really like the aesthetic of the hammerbearers. The art is amazing in this issue; that's all Immonen. I like the contrast in styles between the Avengers, Nazi and Serpent portions of the story,...

    Well, it's....interesting. 2

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It's kind of slow paced, and it goes against something that I distinctly heard the Marvel group say at a con earlier in the year. Here we see the selection process of The Worthy, a group of heroes and villains chosen by The Serpent to be his army, I suppose. We get The Juggernaut(this is NOT a spoiler, look at the cover and tell me that's not Juggy), Titania(really), and Hulk(which actually suprised me), with the promise of others in the tie-ins, which ann...

    Breaker Of Your Stuff 4

Matt Fraction and Stuart Immonen's second issue of Fear Itself focuses primarily on debuting the Worthy, or most of them at least. The hammers hit the surface, and the story shifts from landing site to landing site doing an effective job at introducing each of the characters to claim a hammer.I am generally hard on Fraction's writing for its slow pacing and dragged out story premises. But so far, Fear Itself does not suffer from either of those things. While there is not much plot progression be...

    This is chaos. 0

Cover: Although it is by Stuart Immonen, I am not fond of the design.Good: Stuart Immonen pulls a great job and most of the characterizations are well done.Bad: First of all, I do not like the concept of the story. Hammers falling out of the sky? Characters picking up hammers and being controlled? Why are they all picking up the hammers anyways? This might be an okay pitch for an action story but it seems to have no plot whatsoever. I doubt the slug fest will matter in a year so even all t...

    Fear Itself #2 - a quick look 0

I haven’t gotten into the extra Fear Itself books yet, only read the first two issues so far. Right now I’m on the fence. The art looks great, but the story and characterizations… meh. I’m behind on Thor, so Odin being back is a surprise for me, along with his pissed off attitude. Not that he was all touchy-feely with his emotions, but he is like Old Testament, old world gods kind of pissed off. And that’s just him having a normal conversation with his son! The Worthy is a pretty cool concept, ...

Worthy of what? Not my attention 0

The Good:The Art. That's it. Seriously, it's the only thing that I enjoyed about this issue. The Bad:Sadly, the rest. The story so far is generic. It's way more bland than the amazing art makes it seem. Characters pick up hammers and Thor gets grounded by his dad. You have the obligatory mystery characters here and there and you know how it's going to end. The good guys seem to win, even though nothing will ever get any better, because the next crossover is right around the corner and some charac...

    Where is the fear? 2

Cover I really love this cover and it seems that every issue they are going to change the color. I think that is pretty cool. Also the art I am very satisfied with and it is great that it is the same art as inside the issue. Story Flying hammers crash down to earth and have chosen people to wield it. But no one can explain why they are crashing down to earth not even the superheroes. Best Part In Book One the only characters that really shined were Captain America and Thor. You had to...

In this second issue of Marvel´s big event, Fraction reveals lots of information regarding the Serpent´s goal, what´s his plan or modus operandi to defeat Asgard and he also shows that Odin (despite the fact that Thor and some others don´t agree with him) made a tactical escape from Earth/Midgard back to Asgard/Space Realm in order to make a final stand there, not abandoning Earth, but letting the Serpent collects his toll on it, to only then engage battle with him - in other word, Earth and eve...
