    @Reality: I despise Sabretooth and I like Betsy, it's only fair that I want to see her doing that.

    @ragdollpurps: The team is pretty badass, and I agree that they all have their reasons for being there; the vendettas are personal for both sides. I'm more hyped to see who their leader is. Remender was rather vague about him/her, aside from saying that whoever it is, it's someone very powerful.

    Unless my memory fails spectacularly, he's just a simple member of the team. Let me dig up that Remender interview from CBR.

    @Morpheus_: I think that he served his purpose, but they really didn't know where to take him at one point so now he just a stereotypical "sick in the head" character, which is annoying.

    @ragdollpurps:

    The new Brotherhood of Mutants includes three of the most dangerous enemies the X-Men have ever faced. Mystique holds a grudge against Wolverine; the Shadow King is a longtime rival of Psylocke; and Sabretooth has faced Logan and Betsy many times. Moreover, the Skinless Man and AoA Blob want to get their hands on Fantomex and Nightcrawler. Is this Brotherhood sort of an anti-X-Force?

    It's exactly that. And you still don't know who it is that put the team together. Though you might be able to guess which member of the team had prior knowledge of X-Force -- obviously the Shadow King -- I will tell you he was not the one to come up with their plans or to pull together the new Brotherhood. I was looking through former incarnations of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and I'm pretty sure this one is the most powerful (though, I'm biased).

    Omega Red, Omega Black, Omega White, the Shadow King, AoA Blob, Sabretooth, the Skinlessman, and Mystique are enough unto themselves to earn that title, and once you see who the leader is, and what his ultimate goal is, well... I don't want to fall into hyperbole, but what we've got here is the most terrifying and powerful Brotherhood of Evil Mutants of all time. Hyperbole!

    @ragdollpurps: Evidently, this is according to a guy on CBR who said it was on Remender's Twitter account. It looked like a Deathlok to me, had no idea it's Cable. Maybe its an alt universe Cable, or something. Just for reference, the tweet reads:"Yes, it's Cable, The Punisher and Wolverine vs Psylocke. Or someone who looks like her."...Could mean bad things for Psylocke as well.

    I realize I'm not being terribly positive, and for that I apologize, but if you read this post by Hectorsquall (http://www.comicvine.com/rick-remender/26-44849/rick-remender-why-i-will-stop-buying-every-book-he-is-working-on/92-667201/?) He paints a picture of how Remender has ruined relatively popular characters before, and why he isn't going to read Remender's works anymore in fear of him doing that again. So it's not far out of the realm of possibility at all for him to kill/horribly ruin Psylocke/Fantomex. Which, if he did, would make him lose a ton of respect from me.

    I have read that post, but I am partial to it. I don't much like what Rick has done with Eddie Brock. It's far from an unreasonable development, though. I absolutely loathe what he did to Toxin, and most importantly, the manner in which he did it. I have no issue with his treatment of O'Grady in Secret Avengers. Say what you will, but the character earned something he rarely had with what Remender did: respect, and proof he deserved to be called Ant-Man in spite of what anyone else thought. It also was a rather easy connection to make, given that the second Ant-Man, Scott Lang, had been restored in the pages of Avengers: Children's Crusade.

    Now, regardless on if those complaints are valid or not (and there is a varying degree of validity to all of them), "ruining" Psylocke and/or Fantomex does not factor into it. First of all, because killing them does not necessarily equal ruin. If it makes sense within the confines of the story, and it enhances the quality of the story itself, a character's death can be undeniably powerful. Would it disatisfy readers if a character they love and relate to were to die? That's unquestionable. But still justifiable from a storyteller's point of view, depending on the execution of that move. Secondly, as far as keeping them alive yet ruining them goes, that is a slippery slope. Remender has positively rejuvenated Psylocke's character and provided her with an intrinsic setting in which her character flourishes; he also brought Fantomex a whole new level of popularity and recognizability that he never had, even under his own creator, and that occurred after years of the character having fallen into obscurity. Can he do wrong with them? He potentially could. But he has done good by them at an overwhelming, IMO, degree, so far. This isn't Remender bringing back a toy out of the toolbox a few people remember fondly (but most don't) only to break it fast, hard and without any reason (call me Toxin), this is Remender playing with the same toys he has had for nearly two years, and producing damn good stories with them. So, while h e definitely can be a subject to criticism just like everyone else, let's give the man the opportunity to tell the story he wants to tell and differentiate his works in the process.

    So, as far as UXF is concerned, I guess I want to believe in Rick Remender.

    @Morpheus_: Well yes, I said I didn't agree completely with everything he said in that thread, I suppose that should be pointed out.

    And the point is, rarely has death been incredibly meaningful in comics. Archangel's death was, and Remender deserves credit for that.

    What my point was with saying horribly ruin, and what I think the main fear, is that he will kill whoever it is that he kills in such a fashion that is not preferable or meaningful at all. And that article merely points out the instances where he has done so in the recent past, that is all. & I'm not trying to jump the gun and proclaim him a bad writer or anything of that nature, I'm just speculating as to what might happen, which is in my mind one of the main reasons for these forums. So that's all, I'm not discrediting Rick at all, he's shown he's a fantastic writer. Nor am I discredit you at all, and I don't necessarily disagree. It's all good, right?
