After the apparent death of Victor Von Doom in the battle between the Silver Surfer and Terrax the Tamer, the Doombots initiate a contingency plan to resurrect the Latverian monarch. John Byrne retells the origin of Doctor Doom; some of the material is later reprinted in The Marvel Saga The Official History of the Marvel Universe #3 - BOOK III: A GATHERING OF DOOMS!. Meanwhile, another classic FF villain begins to orchestrate his revenge from the shadows, and the Baxter Building is destroyed with the Marvel's first family and their loved ones inside.
