So Says Doctor Doom...
If ever you find yourself looking to learn more about Doom - Books of Doom is probably the best place to start.
The Books are a retelling / updated telling of Doom's Origin, originally total by Stan Lee way back when (most of us) were nothing but twnkles in the eyes.
There's really not a whole lot to say. Brubaker completely succeeds and delivers an epic story chronicling Victor's life from a child to an adolescent to eventually the man (if I am allowed to call him that) we all know and love today. Not that anyone would be surprise of course, since Ed is the man.
Every detail of the basis and foundation for who Doom is, how he acts, why he does what he does and how he does is laid out here. The story succeeds in showing the subtleties of the character that make him so great. You see his genius intellect as he goes about starting his revolution of Latveria and yet you can also see the simple things that Doom himself often overlook due to his own arrogance, vanity or pride. Its truly a pleasure to read.
I won't get into too many spoilers, cause I wouldn't want too ruin it should you decide to read it. And like I said, there's not much to say. The story speaks for itself and its a wonderful one indeed.
