    Verdict - 4.8

    - What I think: Again nothing special about the cover, just a generic team pose. Some of the variants on the other hand are nice and would probably draw my attention. Everything about this issue I liked. It's a good jumping on point. The issue starts with a vision by Franklin who tells his family they shouldn't go into space. Mr. Fantastic also discovers some disturbing news about the teams powers. They then show each of the Fantastic Four and some of their normal life, before getting news from a sick Mr. Fantastic that they are going to leave earth to teach the Future Foundation in other galaxies, times, and universes. He states the ship is capable of time-travel so while they will be gone for a year, almost not time will have passed for everyone else. Still Mr. Fantastic states they need to be prepared and have heroes take their place on Earth in their absence, leading into FF #1 - Parts of a Hole. Marvel hasn't done much with space lately, nor have I usually read them, but with the Fantastic Four leaving Earth, Nova #1 and Guardians of the Galaxy #1, it might be fun to read about places other than Earth.

I thoroughly admit to being much more of a DC guy than a Marvel guy, with the New 52 getting me into comics and Marvel's $3.99 and double shipping policies turning me off of their product. However, with Marvel Now!, I felt like this was a great time to try out some comics that I normally wouldn't read. Last week I checked out Deadpool #1 and enjoyed it, and now it's my turn to check out Fantastic Four #1. Other than knowing who the Fantastic Four are, I'm a complete noob to them and their univer...
