The new Cobra F.A.N.G. is the third version of their one man helicopter. Simple and cheap to build, the F.A.N.G. is a highly mobile and fast, aerial attack machine. It offers absolutely no protection against enemy fire (because the armor was sacrificed for speed and weapons mounts) and it takes an accordingly brave, skillful or stupid pilot to actually complete a mission and return the F.A.N.G. in one piece. Cobra isn't well known for their vested interest in the well-being of their operatives, though - only their success.
F.A.N.G. I
FANG stands for Fully Armed Negator Gyrocopter. It was first commissioned by Cobra in 1983. The F.A.N.G. weighs 890 pounds and has a top speed of 175 MPH and a fully loaded range of 320 miles. Its primary weapon is its 85 mm Rapid Fire Cannon on a bubble turret. It also carries numerous air-to-air heat seeking missiles. It was later replaced by the FANG II.
F.A.N.G. II
The FANG II was a twin-propeller and replaced the original FANG in 1989. Its primary weapon was its 20 mm Secto-Barrel Impulse Long Range Cannon. It also carried several AIMZ-33 Air-To-Air Crusher Missiles. It was later replaced by the FANG III.
F.A.N.G. III
The FANG III, usually piloted by C.L.A.W.S., replaced the FANG II in 2002. The F.A.N.G. III weighs 950 pounds and a top speed of 235 MPH and a fully loaded range of 280 miles. Its primary weapon is its Twin-Mounted 50 mm Gatling Gun. It also has 2 rocket launchers that fire sonic rockets.
