Plus
Great job by Stephanie Hans on the cover. Thor protecting the New Mutants got me to pick up this issue even though I wasn't originally planning to get it. The plot revolves around events that happened in the past that affects the future which is always an interesting story and the writers of this issue may not have done a very spectacular job telling that story, but it was good enough to keep readers glued to what they were reading. The environment was drawn well too.
Minus
The story is what will make this comic a slightly good read as the artwork was less than stellar. The layout on some pages was a little messy at times which made the pace for storytelling unstable - it was slow at certain points, then speed up at another. The emotions of the characters weren't properly drawn on some panels which could've helped more in drawing the readers in.
Final Score
The plot and artwork are good but not good enough for your limited reading time. If you are new to comic books, you might want to spend your pennies on a different one. The same could be said to old comic book readers. 2.5/5 stars.
