    Hit Or Miss?

The fifth issue of Executive Assistant Iris will finally be hitting stores next week, but will it be a hit, or a miss?

    The Good

Eduardo Francisco does a fantastic job with the penciling in this issue. However, as I have mentioned in the past, I did feel that the inking lines were at times too heavy. The art work is fantastic however, and I have been (and continue to be) a big fan of his work. The series picks up where it left off, and while it has been quite some time since the release of the last issue, it reads very well. The dialogue and story flow nicely and the Francisco does a fantastic job telling the story through his art. This particular issue is action packed, and in it, we are beginning to see a different side of Iris- her emotions. Throughout this series we have seen Iris the Assassin: a ruthless warrior who gets the job done without a second thought as to the repercussions or morality of her actions. When she finally comes face to face with a dilemma and the possibility that she could lose something, or more specifically, someone, she really cares about she gains a greater understanding of the ethic and moral aspects of her actions. The story is very new reader friendly, and leaves on a great cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more.

    The Bad

As I have said, it has been quite some time since the release of the last issue of Executive Assistant Iris. The good news is that the narrative and dialogue in the story will jog your memory. While the story is a fun read that wil have you at the edge of your seat, I get the feeling that not a lot has happened in the character development department. When am I going to see a little bit more emotion, Iris? One scene in particular moved far too quickly for me, and I hoped that I would see a different reaction from her during the car chase. I don't want to give any more of the story away.

    The Verdict- 4/5

The story is fun, and is still one of my favorite Aspen titles. The art is great, the characters are good and the comic is fast paced with a lot of high adventure. While I would like to see a lot more character development (in the emotion department) I am glad to see we are gradually getting there. I just hope we don't have to wait a long time for the next issue!
