In the distant past Ernie has a neighbor who was nice to him and as children they built snowmen together. today she is locked up in a cell as a traitor with a wounded fellow accused. She recalls that day as the snow falls at Christmas time in this blasted world.
Ernie finds and releases her and carries her to safety. When she wakes she kicks him and he hits her in self defense. He goes outside and kills more troops. Lady death suddenly appears and asks him why he has saved this woman and what it is that he wants. He says he wants his mistress. With the Pandora Effect fading Lady Death uses this last opportunity to kiss Ernie until he achieves Megadeath.
She lets Ernie escape and he lets her live.. for now as he is re-invigorated to bring about the end of the world.
