"The Country Nurse" concludes the Essex County trilogy by switching the character focus yet again to Anne, Lou's nurse from the previous book. Through her, we get to experience the middle-age of life, caring for others and trying to remain a good person. Featured heavily are tie-ups of previous plot threads: Lemire delves deeper into the threads of infidelity and lies that run through Essex County, all while giving us a look into the history that has shaped the region. A great finish to the series.
