    Origin

    Co owner, public relations manager and editor in chief of Swedish political magazine Millennium. Although she is married to Greger Beckman she is engaged in a steady romantic and sexual relationship with Mikael Blomkvist. After scandal forces Mikael to step down, Erika continues to try and provide emotional support for him as he takes on a special and unique investigation on bequest of Henrik Vanger.

    Creation

    Erika Berger is a fictional character who first appears in the Millennium novel series The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, released in 2005. Written by Swedish author and journalist Stieg Larsson, the book and its sequels have spawned much success, including movies and a graphic novel released in 2012 by Vertigo. Denise Mina and Leonardo Manco are the creative team responsible for adapting Girl with the Dragon tattoo into graphic novel format.
