    thank you and how did she die 
    i always believed that what if books always tell the opposite of what will happen in the 616 universe so maybe jean wont come bak :( as herself but as hope:)

    it think that hope is a fragment of the PF to be honest and when second coming ends we will have jean back. I think this will be the second time jean has come back truely so who knows

    So... the third part in the Messiah Trilogy is dedicated to Jean? Ha, what a waste.  
    Also, why would Marvel spend two years creating a character and defining her for it to turn out that she's not really a character, but a personified fraction of a celestial force?

    well how are they going to bring her back? they have been dropping hints that hope is connected to the phoenix force and they have said Jean will be returning soon alos hope has TK powers like jean there are to many direct comparisons to jean for hope not to be somehow connected with her return

    I heard on Comic Con that Jean was coming back, but in a way that nobody expects she would....

    Major comic book characters will never be killed off. Why is this? Well, for one because writers and creators want future generations to be able to experience what our kids (for some of us) we, our fathers and our grandfathers (for some of us) experienced. If let's say, Ultron was really killed off then future members of this site would be asking, "Ultron who? Oh you mean that old robot villain from Marvel who they killed off and never brought back. Yeah, he sucked." 
     
    I want my kids to be able to experience comics the way I did back in the early to mid-80s. So far, with the 'rebirth' of several characters and teams, they are able to do this. I wouldn't want that to change for their children and grandchildren either.
     
    I'm certain we will be seeing several of the so-called deceased characters make a return, die again, then return again sooner or later.

    Thanks, but I've heard worse things.  But as it turns out, this isn't the first thread about Emma in the issue of What If...?  Therefore, common sense dictates that this (the latter thread) should be closed...
