I think that Emma's tendency to say what she thought was refreshing and necessary at the time. Jean and Scott were busy repressing their way through Scott's Apocalypse trauma, so somebody had to step up and be a straight shooter.

Honestly I love Emma frost from Generation x to her reboot on New Xmen and the Joss Wheadon version... she is poorly written now... you make good observations about Scott and Jean and Scott and Emma... but I was never a fan of Scott until he got with emma... he had a edge to him.. just like if jean got with logan.. she wouldve have a edginess to her because those are the type of people to bring it out of them.. as for the Emma stealing Jeans shine, I

These women use their abilites in a manipulative and physical ways. When it comes to jean, seeing her fight sabretooth and watchin her throw him around is the jean I like to see.. if anybody had anything handed to her is and always be is jean, she the first lady.
