    @Phoenix of the Black Throne:
    I'd say it's due to M-day and its after-effects far more than the Twelve story or anything else.

    Scotts change was a direct result of what happened to him during the 12, if that had not happened to him he would still be the boyscout he was before that, and all this not trusting Xavier, Utopiia, X-Force business would not being going on.  If Jean hadn't "pushed" him, he would have quit the Xmen.  if M-day would have spurred him back into action (had the 12 thing not happened), Scott would have been looking for Xavier to solve it not gone his own way, the old Scott would have forgiven Xavier for what really happened on Krakoa as for the most part he has always believed (or at least acted as if he believed) that Xavier is the greatest man on Earth and if he (Xavier) had to violate their minds then there must have been a good reason .  Everything that he is doing now would be out of chararter and make no sense if he had not spent time being one with Apoc. "

    (You know, paragraphs can be useful sometimes. Makes it easier to read longer texts, escpecially on a computer screen)

    I don't agree. Sharing a mind with Apocalypse changed Scott, yes, but not in the sense of rewriting his mind. It was more that the experience made Scott see his own repressions and break free of them. That's how Morrison wrote it at least.

    Him not trusting Xavier is partly due to the Danger incident and (more so) Xavier's actions in Deadly Genesis. You know, Xavier erasing Scott's memories of his brother and what happened on Krakoa. Xavier influencing his mind in X-Men Legacy recently probably did not help matters either. FWIW, they seem to have made up now, just with the dynamic of Scott being in charge instead of Xavier.

    Even without the Twelve, he would not have been looking for Xavier to solve M-day.
    1. The Danger incident happened before this.
    2. M-day caused Xavier to disappear and lose his powers.
    3. When they found him again, they found out about Deadly Genesis.

    The main cause for his current actions (founding X-Force and sacrificing everything else for Hope's sake) is M-Day and the increased attempts of fanatics like the Purifiers and Bastion to "finish the job".

    You don't think seeing most of your species wiped out and then people under your protection (e.g. the students in the bus) being killed off one by one would have at least some effect on him? Well, I certainly do.

    Also, don't forget that he was mostly his old self after New X-Men ended, up to when he started learning about Xavier's past actions and M-Day and the Purifiers struck. It's not as if the current Scott happened directly after the Twelve or even New X-Men.
