Emma shouldn't be able to use her telepathy ...
 It will just make her too overpowered which ruins characters, keep it the way it currently is.  :)  Phsyical or Mental not both.

They have been inconsistent with it, but she is supposed to be A) unable to use her telepathy in her diamond form, and B) immune to telepathy in her diamond form.  I believe it has something to do with the adamantine luster of the diamond that cancels out telepathy.

I thought in one situation when they first met No-Girl she was controlling Emma while she was in diamond form which proves the immune theory wrong, unless that too was an inconsistency. Well was she being controlled or was she just subdued. Am I wrong?

I think she was a perfectly fine character before it. It just doesn't really fit her. "

I always like her line of her being her own best friend. With how upper class she is I think her ability to change to diamond form is fitting to her personality. Plus the diamond form is what saving her from probably being overcome by that sliver of evil.  Of course there is the situation that she is cut off from emotions while in this form, thus making her relationship with Scott even more rocky, I have so much hope for them.

She was shown in Astonishing X-Men once using telepathy while in her diamond form, but this is assumed to be an error on the part of the artists. She can't use Telepathy in her Diamond Form and is also immune to it [not that that part is show much].

That is dumb that is such an overkill characters with no weaknesses or flaws just to perfect are stupid

Well, she's basically immune otherwise as well due to her own psychic powers.
The diamond form protection might perhaps be more fool-proof, but on the other hand she loses most of her offensive abilities.

Limited super-strength (2 tons) and invulnerability (far from absolute) generally has much less utility than world class telepathy.
Much easier to take out opponents from a distance rather than having to walk up to them and hit them, right? Not to mention
making it possible to coordinate the others in the team and protect them from psychic attacks as well, in diamond form only she herself
is protected as seen in the Agents of Atlas issue.
 
The diamond form is of course handy against opponents that are not susceptible to telepathy, but in many cases it just enables her 
to survive, not to "win". Just see how she was swatted away by the Sentinel in Astonishing X-Men #32 for example. 
 
Maybe she should ask to borrow one of X-23's claws, it seems to work out well for Kitty in Forever :)

Emma is far from perfect but she might think otherwise, but with her throwing that Omega level telepath phrase around can you doubt that the diamond form is a nice backup.

as far as i know they cuckoos choose not to use their diamond form as it causes their link with the others to be broken.  im not sure if it is flawless but they are able to change certain parts of their bodies into diamond like they did with their hearts in warsong to contain the phoenix

Well Emma has a weak point in her diamond from that if you hit i she will shatter but the stepford c. does not have a weak spot in their diamond form! "
